Hello and welcome back ! First off i wanna wish all my Chinese friends a prospers Chinese new year, and may the year of the goat bring you heaps of luck ! And for my other non-Chinese friends I hope you're enjoying the holidays as much as we are.
Secondly, I have a new makeup tutorial to share with you all! I decided, since it's Chinese new year and ... i'm Chinese..... why not create a look that incorporates the festive colors of Chinese new year and this is what I came up with. I paired a bright matte red lips with a gold metallic eyes and a hint of tangerine in the crease. Click on the video to see how I achieve this look.

I created this look using all gold tones and red tones, As some of you may already know Chinese new year is all about RED! GOLD! YELLOW! Red corresponds with fire which symbolizes good fortune and joy! This color is found everywhere during Chinese New Year because it is deemed an auspicious color. Besides that, red is also the color of our 'Hongbaos'. Hongbaos is basically a monetary gift given by the older generation ( married couple) to the younger generations like me X)!
Legend says that in ancient China, there was a demon called Sui (祟) terrorizing the village every Chinese New Year Eve, and the demon only targeted children. The demon would touch the children's forehead at night once they've fallen asleep and they would wake up the next morning ill to the extent of death. People would stay up late during Chinese New Year Eve to keep their children safe. Today, we celebrate New Year’s Eve by staying up late—it’s called 守岁(shǒusuì), or “waiting for Sui.” As the story lingered on, a worried couple decided to wrap copper coins in red paper to entertain their newborn to keep him awake. Then 8 fairies heard the family's prayers and disguised themselves as the coins. At night when the demon supposedly approach the child, the coins (fairies) will shine so bright that they scared the demon away. The story spread, and everyone began to wrap coins in red paper to protect their children. As time went by, hongbao ceased to serve as a protector from evil spirits and a symbol of best wishes and blessings for children.
That was just a myth, so don't quote me on that X). I hope you all enjoy the holidays and continue to follow me ! GONG XI FA CHAI! All the products are listed below. Click on the words for more info about the products. Contact me through my email at amandateoliwan5758@gmail.com.

Hi, can I ask why you did the top and bottom separately? like you did your top eyelids and applied the liner before going to the bottom lids. Am also looking to your freelancing. Do you have experience and where are you situated?
ReplyDeleteHello, haha I have no particular order actually. But my best explanation is, to gauge how heavy I want my lower lashes to look. Cause If I were to apply all shadows 1st, I might over apply my bottom lashes as I haven't put eyeliner on 😅 Its really personal preference I guess. I'm not a qualified mua I just like doing makeup for people. I'm just starting of so I'm not situated anywhere as of right now. 😊
